Vanguard extends the ez/Token multifactor authentication functionality of Vanguard Multifactor Authentication Suite into the VTAM logon process. When Vanguard Multifactor Authentication Suite is used with VTAM, it provides a VTAM logon portal that authenticates users through a one-time use multifactor authentication personal identification number and/or security token along with an ESM user ID and, optionally, password (or passphrase) when they log on through VTAM.

Vanguard Privileged Access Monitoring (PAM)

In any business that depends upon information technology, a certain level of risk to system integrity and data exists. It’s the responsibility of the security organization to keep that risk to a minimum, which means administering and monitoring information system security on a constant or ongoing basis. Vanguard Privileged Access Monitoring (PAM) allows you to monitor data set and general resource access, RACF, ACF2, and IBM z/OS commands issued, and the start and stop events for tasks like TSO, STC, and JOB. With Vanguard PAM, you can specify criteria that helps narrow the scope to the events of interest for security and/or auditing purposes.

Vanguard Advisor with Active Alerts

Monitoring and analysing event logs are critical to risk management in z/OS system and security environments. Vanguard Advisor provides complete collection and reporting of system events to enable powerful forensic analysis. Advisor is a customizable event-driven engine providing notifications and realtime reporting on security events and changes to security sub-systems. Vanguard Advisor can immediately deliver alerts, violation notices and reports in real-time in the event of an intrusion, anomaly or weakening of security. Vanguard Active Alerts for Advisor sends user specified event driven data to SIEM, SNMP or SYSLOGD in industry-standard formats as requested by the user. Vanguard Active Alerts are available for Splunk dashboards.

Vanguard Self-Help Password Reset

Vanguard Self-Help Password Reset is a self-service web application that addresses the common problem of forgotten passwords. Vanguard Self-Help Password Reset operates on various web server technologies. All web-based password reset requests are secure and encrypted. Vanguard Policy Manager

Ensure that your z/OS Security Server (RACF) profiles are compliant, and stay compliant, with your written
information security policies and standards. Vanguard Policy Manager “policy profiles” are created and administered using user-friendly ISPF panels or native z/OS Security Server (RACF) commands which are
used by all security administrators. These policy profiles manage the commands that administer the user ID, group, data set and general resource profiles that cover your resources, not the resources themselves. Policy Manager also supports a feature called “best practice policies.” These are pre-defined, user enabled policies based on industry-wide best practices.

Vanguard Security Assessments and Pen Testing

Target mainframe penetration risks with Vanguard’s industry-leading knowledge of z/OS security server, enterprise and cloud security. Vanguard Security Assessments quickly identifies and prioritizes mainframe penetration risks, determines whether the implementation reflects best practices for security and integrity, and evaluates the potential impact and exposure of any findings on an organization’s operations and reputation (e.g. failing audits, losing revenue or violating privacy protections).
