IBM and Cohesity Collaborate to Offer New Security Solution

IBM Storage Defender will help businesses manage the impacts of data breaches and cyberattacks
Phil Goodwin, research vice president, IDC, says, "Together, IBM and Cohesity are combining their capabilities to build a foundation to reduce data fragmentation, maximize availability and improve business resiliency for companies' hybrid cloud environments."
IBM Storage Defender combines the data protection, cyber resilience and data management capabilities of IBM and Cohesity, including the following solutions:
1. IBM Storage Protect: A comprehensive data resilience solution that enables organizations to scale up and reduce backup infrastructure costs.
2. IBM FlashSystem: A cyber-resilient, all-flash, hybrid storage platform for performance and capacity- intensive workloads.
3. IBM Storage Fusion: A container-native data storage and protection platform for Red Hat OpenShift.
4. Cohesity DataProtect: A solution offering comprehensive protection for traditional and modern data sources on a multi cloud platform. Cohesity DataProtect enables customers to store data in multiple locations to rapidly recover from breaches.
IBM Storage Defender will be available in Q2 of 2023, starting with IBM Storage Protect and Cohesity DataProtect. In addition to the IBM Storage Defender solution, Denis Kennelly, general manager of IBM Storage, announced changes to the IBM Storage brand identity and strategy in order to address three of the most pressing data challenges businesses face today, including: AI and hyper-data growth, moving digital assets from edge-to-core-to-cloud(s) and the increasing need for resilient storage offerings.
