Northwestern State University’s (NSU) Computer Information Systems (CIS) program offers a comprehensive Bachelor of Science degree designed to prepare students for careers in information technology across various sectors. The curriculum combines business and technology education, covering areas such as programming, database systems, hardware/networking, web development, and systems development. Students can specialize in one of three concentrations: Application Development, Networking & Cyber Security, or Information Systems Management. Recognized nationally for excellence, the program has won over 20 national titles in competitions since 1999 and is an Area of Excellence within the University of Louisiana System. NSU also offers a Master of Science in CIS for advanced study.
